30wks training

So the recap for last week is it was hot and muggy and miserable for anyone, but especially for anyone carrying an extra 15-20lbs of human.

Sunday: too hot to run, 32min pool run
Monday: 4miles at 6am on trail @8:37 pace
Tuesday: 53min pool (swim & aqua) and 32min on elliptical at lunch
Wednesday: track workout at 6:15am, 7x200m w/200m jog (43-45sec) then one 400m, just for kicks in 94. total mileage 4.  At lunch, was able to get in the outdoor pool for another 32 min aqua jog.
Thursday: 60min in the pool (30min swim, 30min aqua, both with intervals)
Friday: 6am run, felt awful. no watch. 3mi
Saturday: 6miles at 8:57, felt better, but still so muggy!

Total: 17miles of running and 3.5hrs off-land/other

At 33 weeks I am participating in an alumni event where I will have to cover about 15miles, it’s broken up into 4 different runs, but I’m still getting nervous.

29 wks training

There is a heat wave, and it is just awful.  Week 29 was somewhat successful because I was able to log 20mi of actual running, and 2 mini-workouts, but whoa, it’s hot here.

Sunday: 4.7mi @9:13 pace, it was 88+ outside and this was a MORNING run!
Monday: 5.25mi @8:13, this was a 6am run, what a difference the temps make.
Tuesday: 50min in the pool at 6am, then lunch time mini workout w/J.  She did 8x400m, I did 6x200m, keeping them all under 45, then hurdle walkovers.  It was windy, but somehow I didn’t mind it because it cooled us down a little!
Wednesday: 60min in the pool at 6am
Thursday: 4.5 mi @8:48pace
Friday: Mini workout at 6am, 2x1mi at tempo with 800m jog in between hit 7:10 and 7:09.  then did 3x1min hard on the way back to my car.
Saturday: I think it was 95 by 8am so I only aqua jogged 30min in the evening.

TOTAL: 23.5mi running and 2hr 20min in the pool.

28wks training

Not a great week of training, it’s been ridiculously hot, and I’ve never been this pregnant during this time of year!  took 2 days off because of a head cold that I am still trying to shake.

Sunday: mini workout, 4x400m (on the roads) hitting 91,89,88,89 w/400j in between.  total of about 5.25mi
Monday: 4.7mi at 6am at 8:25pace
Tuesday: 55min in the pool in the am, 37min on trails with husband
Wednesday: off- feeling sick
Thursday: 55min aqua jog in the am, and mini track workout at lunch (3x400m at about 91) w/J (she did 3x800m) super hot day & feeling lousy. pool stretches in evening w/kiddos
Friday: stayed home sick! awful head cold
Saturday: super hot day near 100, just did 2.6mi run and stretched
TOTAL: about 20miles, and 2 hrs in the pool

27 weeks

Wow, my mileage has gone down.  I blame the heat mostly, but probably my size too.  Baby should weigh about 2lbs now, and I think I’m measuring at least a week ahead of my due date.  As is the norm with my children, it never stops moving!

Sunday: 6.2mi at 8:30 pace
Monday: OFF, I was a complete waste of space this day.  Exhausted from a long party weekend.
Tuesday: 55min in the pool at 6am, 2mi run after work on the xc course & core.  This was the hottest day yet!
Wednesday: 3.3mi run at 8:50 pace at 6am, was planning to run a 5k in the evening with the family, but it was just brutally hot.
Thursday: 60min in the pool at 6am and lunch time workout w/J.  I did 6x1min on xc course While J did 6x2min.  I felt good, but it was super hot & muggy again.
Friday: 45min easy in the pool at 6am
Saturday: 5k with alums/friends.  I ran with my 6yo, who ran about 10min pace!  I did not want the kids to run because while yeah, I want them to be runners some day..they’re still so little & a 5k is a lot for those little legs!  They finished 1st & 2nd for under 13.

Total:  19miles running & 2hr40min off land

26wks training

This week was more pool than running maybe.  The 4th of July holidays is sort our thing.  We got engaged on the 5th, were married on the 3rd, and our 2nd son was born on the 4th.  So we always have a shindig or two.  This year was no exception with a camping themed birthday party complete with people camping in tents and even a camper in our yard.  I took advantage of the lunch hour to get shopping etc done and dodged running in the heat.

Sunday: 6miles (no walking!) at about 8:50 pace, easy with my friend. considering i didn’t think i’d get a run in at all, i was very happy with this!
Monday: Pool 60min in am & 4.1mi at lunch, no watch, so hot & miserable
Tuesday: Pool 60min in am  & 6x200m at 40, while my friend did 400s, 4mi for the day. also very hot & humid
Wednesday: Pool only (60min)
Thursday: Pool 60min in am & 5mi w/hubby at 8:24 pace at lunch time, hot!
Friday: Pool only (60min)
Saturday: 5mi in the morning at 8:15 pace, so much cooler!

Total: 5hrs in the pool (off land running & swimming) and 24miles (in 5 days).
*And now we are into the 3rd trimester!*

There’s a 5k I want to do this coming Saturday, which would be only my 2nd time “racing” in the 3rd trimester, but my husband’s trying to talk me out of running hard.

25 weeks training

Since the pool is now open 5 mornings a week, I’ve tried to take advantage and get off land more (I weigh 1/10th of my actual weight or something!)  So my mileage was low, but hopefully I am not losing too much fitness.

Sunday: 4 miles easy, no watch
Monday: 3.5 miles easy, no watch.  Just a beautiful day! lots planned with kids, so took it easy in the heat
Tuesday: 6am run, 6x1min at about 5:40pace on path.  total 5miles
Wednesday: Off land, 30min swim & 30min aquajog
Thursday: 5.25mi including striders at about 8min pace
Friday: Off land, 30min swim & 30 min aquajog
Saturday: 7mile run, started off okay, but after about 35/40 min I had such a bad side stitch I had to stop every 20 seconds or so.  I stopped timing the run at this point.  After stopping for a bit, I was able to finish it up under 8min pace the last mile or so.

Total: 2 hours off land and 25miles (on land)for the week.

24 weeks, an off week

This was not a good week for running pregnant.  It was hot and work was really busy.  We also bought a car over the weekend, so we spent 6+hrs round trip to get it, plus all the time GETTING it.. so no run.

Sunday: 3miles @8:10 pace
Monday: 5miles @8:10 pace
Tuesday: 4.3miles on the xc course w/B
Wednesday: OFF- work + wicked charlie horse last night, could still feel it.
Thursday: 5.5miles
Friday: 50min offland at 6am (swim & aquajog) and 4miles at 7:50 pace at lunch
Saturday: Off, buying car

*Was disappointed that I didn’t get an actual workout in, but happy the pool finally opened for morning laps so I can supplement with some off land work
